Today we felt creative in the office so we decided to carve some pumpkin in order to get in the Halloween spirit! Here you can see how it went and get some tips if you are planning on carving one yourself.
Use a whiteboard marker to draw the face of the pumpkin, then you can wipe of the lines if you want to change it or if you cut inside the lines.
If you have a smaller pumpkin, a candle inside might burn the pumpkin. We recommend using a wire with a socket and a light bulb instead. Naturally we chose to connect our pumpkins to a Q-plug and set up a schedule to make sure the pumpkin is only switched on in the dark and that it switches off automatically during the night so we do not waste energy and money.
Here is the result!
Do not waste the meat from inside the pumpkin, it can be used for pumpkin pie, pumpkin risotto or you can make a delicious soup like we did, tasty and healthy.
Recipe (for 3-4 persons):
1 kg pumpkin
2 cloves of garlic
1 liter of water
1 bouillon cube
100-200g cream cheese
Salt and pepper (If you like a spicy soup add some chili)
Chop the onion and garlic and roast it in a big pot. Remove the pumpkin seeds and cut the pumpkin into small pieces (The seeds can be roasted and used as garnish). Add the pumpkin pieces, water and bouillon to the pot and boil it for around 20 minutes. Blend the soup, add cream cheese and spices and blend it again. Enjoy!
